Press-fit connectors are environmentally friendly, no soldering is needed, eliminating the cleaning or washing process associated with the soldering process. In addition the connectors are not exposed to very high temperatures during the soldering process. Simple to operate termination tools; hand and pneumatic insertion presses are available. This allows for fast and clean installation of the connectors.

The elasticity in the press-fit zone provides a reliable connection. Due to the unique design of the press-fit contact no degradation over time is evident. The compliant section is designed to allow installation without any damage to the PCB. Furthermore, the design allows for larger tolerances in the plated through holes. The elasticity built into the design of the compliant (Press-fit) section is stable and provides a long term reliable connection. A potential relaxation of the PCB material does not affect long term termination intgrity. Press-fit technology provides a stable and gastight termination.
